The Prelude Collection
The throw blankets are hand-woven using 100% wool weft and 100% cotton warp and detailed with fringed edges on the short sides. They are decorated with hand-embroidery made in Tsornakar, an old Armenian type of embroidery.
The blankets were designed by the artist Aleksey Manukyan and represent the artist’s study of Gyumri and Shirak region's urban and natural landscape. Aleksey believes that through everyday objects, artists can communicate with society; they can share their values and way of thinking.
The blankets carry the warmth of the human hands working at the Factory and reflects the artist’s careful examination of the surface of the wool canvas. It is light, delicate, has a front and backside, and it can be used as a decorative panel hung on the wall or as an element of interior decoration.
